Ours starts on a curved block and stays there — through every size, every seam. A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER The label she couldn't find, so she built it. Classic Alison began with a search that kept coming up empty: a blazer that didn't gape at the back, a trouser that fit the waist without abandoning the hip. Our founder tried on tailoring built for a straight, narrow frame and graded up in size but never in shape — and decided the only answer was to start again from the body itself. Every piece we make is engineered, not simply graded, around the curved figure: a fuller bust, a defined waist, a true hip. That isn't a footnote in our sizing chart. It's the first line we draw on every pattern. How we tailor for curves Six adjustments, drawn into the pattern before a single seam is cut — and carried through every size we make, UK 10 to 20. Shoulder A dropped shoulder seam and a rounder armhole let the jacket sit flat across the back instead of straining between the shoulder blades. Bust Deeper darts, positioned individually rather than borrowed from a straight-size block, so the front lies flat and never pulls open at the button. Waist A true waist seam, not just a dart, is built into every jacket and trouser — defined through the middle without ever feeling restrictive. Hip & seat Curved, not straight, side seams and generous seat ease let fabric skim the body rather than pull at the pocket or seat. Rise A higher rise on every trouser keeps the waistband level, whether you're stood at a bar or seated for the whole evening. Grading UK 10 through 20, graded from the one curved block — proportion adjusts at every size, not just the circumference. We build a true waist seam into jacket and trouser alike, with room left at the high hip so nothing rides up through the day.
