I started this house because I was tired of a wardrobe that stopped believing in me above a certain size. Beautiful tailoring — the kind with real structure, a proper lapel, a trouser that sits without gaping at the waist — seemed to exist only up to a point on the size chart, and then quietly disappear.

I wanted the kind of clothes that make you stand differently the moment you put them on. I didn't see why that should belong to some bodies and not others.

So Classic Alison was built around one idea: premium tailoring for women with curves, designed properly from a size 10 through a size 20 — not graded up from a smaller sample and hoped into shape, but built for the body it's meant to dress.

Every piece you'll see in this journal has been on real women before it ever reached a rail — women who sit down in it, reach for a door handle in it, spend a full day in it.

If a jacket pulled across the back or a trouser gaped at the waistband, it went back to the pattern table. That happened more than once. It will happen again, because I'd rather delay a launch than send you something that doesn't sit right.
